How it works

Divisions

TYBBL is made up of Divisions. Divisions are independent mini-leagues which are run at a local level all across Yorkshire. Some are organised gaming clubs, while others are just groups of friends who meet to play Blood Bowl.

Each Division pretty much runs itself, led by a Commissioner who makes decisions about how matches are organised. Commissioners also jointly agree some common League-wide rules to guarantee a level playing field for everyone.

Seasons

Our calendar is divided into seasons - we're currently on Season 2. During a season, each Division plays its own matches according to its own schedule. The results are posted online so that they can be compared across the League, and they are used as a qualifying period for the Yorkshire Crown tournament.

Tournaments

We hold tournaments from time to time, including the coveted Yorkshire Crown tournament at the end of each season. Each event is hosted by one of our Divisions and coaches attend from all over Yorkshire. The current bearer of the Yorkshire Crown is a Wood Elf team which qualified in our tough Ebor Central division, then went on to beat its nearest rival from Doncaster 6-0 in an amazing tournament final!

Game rules

To make sure that match results are comparable, all Divisions agree to use the same set of basic rules. We always use the current official Blood Bowl rulebook as published by the Blood Bowl Rules Committee - at the moment this is the Living Rulebook, version 5+, amended by the 2008 rules review.

We sometimes agree house rules which can be used by some or all of our Divisions, though at present we don't have any. Individual Divisions are also free to use house rules of their own, as long as these don't give their teams an advantage (or disadvantage!) over teams in other Divisions.
